Bowling Tournament Information and Registration Form – Young Professionals join a team! Come enjoy an evening to network with peers and mentors in a relaxed atmosphere. YP’s that compete in the tournament will be entered in a drawing for a scholarship. The scholarship includes complimentary registration at next conference and hotel reimbursement.
There’s no better time to visit Western North Carolina than in the fall when leaves are exploding with color. The weather is still warm yet offers an evening crispness long forgotten from the hot, humid summer months. This year, the SERDC Symposium and Annual Membership Meeting will take place in Asheville, NC, just steps from the famed Biltmore Estate, minutes from an eclectic downtown and right beside the Blue Ridge Parkway.
This year’s Symposium aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange within the recycling community. It serves as a platform for professionals to stay updated on industry trends, build partnerships, and contribute to the sustainable development of recycling practices. In addition, our 2023 Champions of the Southeast award winners will be announced and the SERDC membership will be able to get an update on this year’s work as well as vote in the 2024 Board of Directors.

The World Trails Film Festival is a unique event showcasing the best short and feature films centering the stories of trails from around the globe. Join us as we bring it to UNC Asheville (premiering for the first time on the East Coast of the United States) to celebrate why trails matter.
This community-building event will support trails locally and globally by fundraising equally for two leading trail organizations, the first of which is the Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards, a local nonprofit equipping people to steward our wild landscapes, and the World Trails Ambassadors, a program of the World Trails Network.
Doors open at 6 pm, Program begins at 7pm and entry will be limited after 7:15 pm, during the screening. Program will include an intermission and ends at 9:30 pm.

This introductory course teaches individuals 9-12 years-old range safety and proper shooting techniques.

!Get ready for another season of excitement as our CORE Program gears up to provide exciting games and activities for toddlers, homeschoolers, and families throughout the community this Fall. This includes include strider bikes, yard games, kid-friendly music, puzzles, foam archery, chalk and more. While the games can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of age–with something available for anyone–the programming is aimed at those 1 to 15 years of age. Asheville Parks & Recreation (APR) offers a broad line-up of youth athletics programs, adult sports leagues, and special events throughout the year with an emphasis on fair play and enjoyment for any level of experience, including the fall opportunities below.

Asheville’s newest team sports league provides an opportunity for community members over 40 who want to get back into the game or prefer to play with others around the same age. Sign up as an individual to be placed on a team based on height, position, and skill level for games played at Linwood Crump Shiloh Community Center.

Six sets to 21 in pool play for advance and intermediate divisions in which all teams advance to the playoffs on a day of music, fun, and volleyball at Carrier Park.
Intro to Golf, $10 for series with players responsible for their own green fees

West Asheville’s newest market space is a collaboration between Tori Frasher, owner of Sage & Spice Catering, and Executive Chef Sergio Castro. Whether you’re a food enthusiast, a seasoned chef, or simply looking for a fun day out, The Market has something for everyone. There will be a myriad of offerings such as smoothies, lattes, matcha, tea, Cuban sandwiches, empanadas, sandwiches, salads, and more. In addition, guests will also be able to purchase frozen meal planning options, wine, beer, and cider. Large group and catering menu options are available upon request. Tori Frasher, owner and operator of The Market by Sage & Spice, is a Greenville, S.C. native who immediately fell in love with the beauty, hospitality, and culinary offerings she found upon her first visits to Asheville. After graduating from Furman University and a brief career in automotive marketing and sales, she moved to Asheville to pursue a career in international food, culture, and event planning. This pursuit led to the creation of Sage & Spice Catering, one of the premier catering and event management companies in Western North Carolina, in 2019 to focus on weddings, large gatherings, holiday events, and corporate functions in conjunction with Executive Chef Sergio Castro, formerly of Conosur Restaurant, and Chef Amanda Delgado. “Growing up in a large Lebanese family, my grandmother and great-grandmother taught me how important food can be to family and as a love language. I’m so happy that I can bring those lessons, our professional catering expertise and talents, and a wide array of local and international vendors together in one place – The Market by Sage & Spice.”, said Frasher.
