Originally a Louisiana native, Stephen moved to Kansas City to escape his traditional southern roots. He’s a fast rising talent in the region that has worked with comics like Theo Von, Karlous Miller, and Mark Normand. Combining his unique perspective with some sweet southern charm, Stephen headlines and features at your favorite clubs, bars, and colleges across the country. He is the house Feature at the KC Improv and has been accepted into festivals like Flyover Fest, B4UDIE, and SF Sketchfest. He is also the co-founder of the Barrel of the Bottoms studio in Kansas City, and the co-host of the Set to Destroy Podcast.

This is a book club that intends to be a support for people with cognitive decline. The first book has an enormous amount of information and it would be great to discuss it with like minded individuals. The End of Alzheimer’s Program: The First Protocol to Enhance Cognition and Reverse Decline at Any Age by Bredesen MD. We will meet on the fourth Thursday of the month at The 2nd Act in Hendersonville at 5:30. Michael Palascak is a comedian who grew up in Indiana and now lives in LA. He performed on both The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in the same year. He has over 1 million views on YouTube. In addition, his resume includes A Little Late with Lilly Singh, The Tonight Show, Letterman, Craig Ferguson, Conan, has a Comedy Central Half Hour special, and was a Top 5 Finalist on Last Comic Standing where one judge claimed, “My first impression of Michael was a great likability. This is a guy that could star in a sitcom.” Michael’s likability allows him to relate to his audiences in a real way which sets up the huge laughs he gets from his sharp, personal material. Consistently writing and performing, this summer Michael released both a new album— The Internet Live through 800 Pound Gorilla and a new stand-up special on the Dry Bar app— 1984. Available for free streaming. Drew Hunt of The Chicago Reader wrote about Michael, “In a lot of ways, he represents the ideal antidote to the sort of unbridled cynicism that pervades much of contemporary stand-up.” Michael’s optimism continues in the new National Lampoon series — The Bright Side where he takes a positive stance on a negative topic streaming on YouTube.

During this year’s holiday break, forget all the craziness and bring the whole (drinking age) family & friends out to hear tales of triumph (but mostly hilarious tragedy) while drinking heavily. Starting its roots in Chicago, and hosted by the hilarious Alex Joyce, The Blackout Diaries is an interactive comedy show were standup comedians, plus ‘regular’ people (cops, firefighters, teachers, etc) tell true drinking stories with photos from the events. Then you, the audience, can ask questions.
The Blackout Diaries has been selected as ‘Critics’ Choice in The Chicago Reader, Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun Times and more. Segments from the show have appeared on Comedy Central, NPR, Sirius Radio and more. A review once described the show as “a reverse AA meeting”. We still don’t know if that was a positive review or not, but we feel it sums the show up well.
Hosted by Alex Joyce. Alex has been performing stand up comedy for 12 years. After graduating from The University of Alabama he moved to Chicago where he studied at the Second City Training Center for Sketch Writing. He is co producer and performer in The Blackout Diaries, a weekly show at The Lincoln Lodge Theater where comedians tell wild drinking stories and the audience gets to ask questions. Joyce returns to Asheville regularly to visit family and perform. Joyce lives in Chicago.
The speakeasy inspired hideaway offers a cozy space for show-goers to relax and enjoy a beverage during the concert. Boasting over 200 different Bourbons and Whiskeys, alongside a myriad of other spirits, it is a must-visit for cocktail lovers and Bourbon sippers alike. Pulp will also open various other nights to feature local artists and “Slice of Life” open-mic comedy nights. Yoga with playful goats…it is just as ridiculous and amazing as it sounds. You can expect to grin, giggle, move, and flow alongside the sweetest little snuggly socialites. The goats may pull your attention away from your movement practice from time to time but they are the most adorable anchors to the present moment and can spark pure joy.
In the summer, imagine moving through your sun salutation in a wide open field as baby goats frolic nearby. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and revel in the expansiveness of wide open spaces. In the winter, snuggle up with these young kids in a covered event barn with a crackling wood stove to keep you all toasty.
These goat yoga classes take place on secluded, private farms tucked away in peaceful valleys and we can’t wait to share them with you!

This 6-week workshop series is inspired by Richard Rohr’s, “Breathing Under Water: Spirituality and the Twelve Steps”. Throughout this series, we will explore The Twelve Steps as described in this powerful book and how they connect with Spirituality and Yoga. Join instructor, Rosie Mulford, as she takes you on a journey to gain a deeper understanding of how the ancient principles in the Gospels and the modern-day Twelve Steps can help to free those who struggle with addiction.
Interweaving yogic philosophy and asana to “connect the dots,” this 6-week workshop will include discussion, movement, pranayama and relaxation.
This course is open to all recovery paths or anyone affected by addiction and no prior yoga experience is required.
We will unpack 3 major principles of addiction:
1. We all have a universal addiction to the way we think 2. We must recognize that we are already that which we seek to become and we already have that which we desire 3. We need to rid ourselves of the heaviness of the ego in order to see what we are and what we have
Samantha Ruddy tells jokes, writes funny stuff, and has strong opinions on Mountain Dew iterations.
Until the show’s cancellation in July of 2022, Samantha was a full-time digital producer and copywriter at Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Samantha’s work at Full Frontal included writing straight to camera promos for Sam Bee, crafting funny copy for the show’s social media accounts, and contributing to scripts for web series including the Emmy Award-nominated Beeing At Home.
Samantha has performed standup on both The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She’s also been heard on NPR and appeared in videos for Comedy Central and Marvel. She has performed at comedy festivals like New York Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Her debut comedy album, Logging Out, was named one of the best comedy albums of 2020 by NPR and is the reason Paste Magazine referred to her as a “joke machine.”
Samantha is a skilled joke writer and her comedy is clever, disarming, and sly. Her writing can be read on Collegehumor, The Cut, and Reductress. After realizing that getting a decent SAT score wasn’t Kenyon’s true calling in life, he started stand up in high school and has gone on to open for Todd Glass, Tim Dillon, Ian Edwards, and Big Jay Oakerson. He has also appeared on Sirius XM. Kenyon is a regular at the Laugh Factory Chicago and Zanie’s. Growing up biracial with disabled parents, Kenyon brings a unique perspective to the stage that has left audiences at clubs and festivals in ruins all over the country.
