Since Riverdance first emerged onto the world stage, its fusion of Irish and international dance and music has captured the hearts of millions worldwide. The Grammy award-winning music and the infectious energy of its mesmerising choreography and breathtaking performances has left audiences in awe and established Riverdance as a global cultural sensation.

To celebrate this incredible 30th year milestone, Riverdance will embark on a special anniversary tour, bringing its magic to audiences around the world.  This spectacular production rejuvenates the much-loved original show with new innovative choreography and costumes and state of the art lighting, projection and motion graphics. And for the first time Riverdance welcomes “The New Generation” of performers, all of whom were not born when show began 30 years ago.

Audiences will enjoy a unique and memorable performance which blends the traditional and the contemporary, showcasing the skill and passion of the world-class of dancers, musicians and singers in the Riverdance ensemble.

Immerse yourself in an unforgettable evening as The JLloyd MashUp pays tribute to the legendary Paul Simon as February’s intimate Hometown Sound Music Series concert. Featuring a full orchestration of Paul Simon’s timeless songs, this performance spans various points in his iconic career.

Leading the vocals is the remarkable Ben Falcon, whose voice captures the very essence of Paul Simon, delivering a brilliant and heartfelt performance. Backed by a powerhouse band, including a full rhythm section, a horn section, and a vocal choir, this show promises to be a spectacular musical celebration.

Curated and led by the talented Jonathan Lloyd (Dubconscious/Cadillac Jones), The JLloyd MashUp is a collective of Asheville’s top musicians, known for their dynamic performances and unmatched versatility. The band explores a wide array of genres, including acid jazz, funk, soul, Afro beat, reggae, break beat, Latin, and world music.

With every show featuring different special guests and fresh material, no two performances are ever the same. 8 silk brocades qi gong workshop is open to all levels. Each movement in this set of 8 represents our ancestry, epigenetics, and destiny. Learn all 8 exercises or drop in for just a few. Stance training, posture and meditative movements for your health. It’s a super sophisticated qi gong form but simple to learn. I would love to invite anyone who’s new to internal martial arts or is simply searching for more comfortable safe and inclusive space for LGBTQ plus. The class will be offered in person at Shaolin kung fu in West Asheville starting on Feb 16 on Sundays at 10am for six weeks. Suggested donation for each class but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Join your host Kristin Hillegas, for a one-hour Serenity Sound Bath and experience a deeply immersive, full-body sound and vibrational experience. A sound bath can cleanse your soul, restore your balance, surround you with peace and tranquility and stimulate healing.

Note: Please bring a yoga mat/pillow/blanket since you will be lying on the floor. Wear warm, comfortable, and flexible clothing.

The Sound Bath will take place upstairs in the Education Building. Choose your space starting at 12:45 PM, doors close promptly at 1:00 PM.

This service is being offered on a Love Offering basis. Donations allow us to continue to provide these immersive experiences. (Retail Value $25)

Join us for an empowering 8-week journey where food truly becomes medicine. This comprehensive program will guide you through the process of optimizing your blood glucose levels by understanding and managing insulin resistance. Beginner’s workshop lesson at 7:30 P.M., then 8-11 P.M. Contra Dance with Country Waltzing at the break and the final dance. This is a partner dance but it’s not necessary to come with a partner. We have different live bands and callers.

The cave will transform into a “Nidra Nest” with comfy reclining loungers, blankets, and bolsters to fully support you, whether sitting or lying down, for the entire experience. During this session Kate will also be offering Reiki to those who desire. Reiki feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. It is a powerful attunement that treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being. Release stuck emotions, rest, and rejuvenate! Join Reiki Master Teacher and Yoga Nidra Facilitator, Kate Wargo of Woven Light LLC in a soothing Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) practice guiding you into the “in between”; that space between being awake and being asleep.

Please join the Blue Ridge Orchestra for two afternoons of orchestral favorites at 3:00 pm: on Saturday, March 1st, and Sunday, March 2nd in Lipinsky Auditorium, UNC Asheville. We open March Melodrama with Gluck’s dramatic Overture to Iphigenie in Aulis. The BRO then highlights pianist Ivan Seng in Mozart’s Concerto No. 23 in A major, K. 488.  The second half of the program shifts to Dvorak’s Symphony no.8 in G major, which takes its inspiration from the nature and folk music of his homeland Bohemia, presently the Czech Republic.

Then, immerse yourself in a sonic journey unlike any other as we begin the concert with Mason Bates’ mesmerizing Liquid Interface, an evocative exploration of the intersection between nature and technology. Dive into the vibrant world of jazz with Duke Ellington’s Suite from The River, where the music ebbs, gurgles, and flows like our own Reedy River.
