John Cram, owner of Blue Spiral 1 gallery, is making available a limited edition of Ward Nichols Puzzling, with all proceeds from sales donated to the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy (SAHC). Only 350 of the 17 1/2" H x 26 3/8" W Gicle prints on archival paper will be sold at $300 each, unframed, signed and numbered by the artist. "The compelling image in Puzzling asks the question, OWhat are we going to do with our landscapeSwith our remaining farmland?" These are very serious questions and the answers will have a dramatic effect on future generations. Each piece of land that SAHC and its members protect helps solve the puzzle," Cram said. Puzzling prints are available at Blue Spiral 1 gallery downtown, New Morning Gallery in Biltmore Village and the SAHC offices at 34 Wall Street. Checks should be made out to SAHC and shipping is available. North Carolina leads the nation in the loss of farmland, which is decreasing at the rate of 1000 farms per year. Since 1974, SAHC has protected almost 40,000 acres in North Carolina and Tennessee, conserving the clean water, unique plant and animal habitat and scenic beauty of the region.
