Asheville Parks and Recreation Offers 2009 Teen Ski and Snowboard Programs


Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts is accepting registrations now for the 2009 Teen Ski and Snowboard programs, which include �Friday Nights at Cataloochee� and a West Virginia overnight trip to Winterplace, February 21-22. These packages make great gift ideas for the teen in your family! Activity prices listed are for Asheville residents (R), and for non-city residents (NR). Friday Nights for Teens at Cataloochee

Learn to ski/ride or just get a lift to the mountain! Charter bus transportation included. Depart Stephens-Lee Recreation Center at 4:15 p.m.; return 11:00 p.m. Five week session: Jan. 9, 23, 30 and Feb. 6, 13; with a make-up on Feb. 20.

Program fees for five-week session

  • Lift tickets and lesson: $215-R; $220-NR
  • Lift tickets, lesson, ski rental: $240-R; $245-NR
  • Lift tickets, lesson, board rental: $250-R; $255-NR
Bus ride only fees
  • Weekly: $20-R; $25-NR
  • Session: $90-R; $95-NR
West Virginia Overnight Trip for Teens - Ski & Riding at Winterplace Resort
February 21-22

Head to West Virginia for some fun on the slopes Saturday evening, spend the night �camping� in the resort lodge, then be the first on the slopes Sunday morning. Designed for teens, ages 12-17; trip minimum is ten participants. Fee includes transportation, tickets, three meals, and lodging. Bring a sleeping bag.

  • Fee: $150 R; $155 NR
  • Ski Rentals: $180 R; $185 NR
  • Board Rentals: $200 R; $205 NR
