![]() Buffet has opened restaurants throughout the US and the Caribbean and has named them either “Margaritaville” or “Cheeseburger in Paradise”. The restaurants have been well received, and offer food, bars, décor, and music that a Buffett fan would expect from anything associated with the popular singer. Tropical fans, palm trees, bright colors, a casual menu, and Jimmy Buffett tunes come together to create the relaxed, easy-going island atmosphere that is so closely associated with Buffett’s entertainment career and writing. Buffett, a Pascagoula, Mississippi, native, toured in small clubs until his first big hit, “Come Monday,” rocketed up the charts in the mid-1970s. Buffett continued his career and an ever-growing fan base with great follow-up hits such as “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Margaritaville,” “Changes in Latitudes Changes in Attitudes,” and “Fins”. He branched off in later years by writing several books (“A Salty Piece of Land”, his latest endeavor, is currently on the New York Times Bestseller List) and managing a business career that has taken him into restaurants and Broadway show production, among other interests. At age 58, Buffett is currently enjoying newfound energy and a wider audience with his release last year, “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” with popular country artist Alan Jackson. Cheeseburger in Paradise’s Asheville location is at 1 Restaurant Court, a new commercial development behind the Red Lobster on Tunnel Road. The restaurant menu will feature American and Caribbean items, and, of course, a cheeseburger like nothing you’ve ever tasted. (Image provided by cheeseburgerinparadise.com)
