Ingles Hosts Seasonal Flu Clinic

It will soon be influenza(flu) and pneumonia season and Ingles Supermarkets is pleased to announce that Maxim Health Systems will be sending nurses to Ingles stores to perform seasonal flu and pneumonia shot clinics for Ingles customers and employees. People 9 years and older are eligible for the vaccination.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommends that everyone get a seasonal flu shot but for the following is is especially important:

pregnant women
people aged 50 and older
those with chronic medical conditions (check with your physician)
people living in nursing homes or long term care facilities
health care workers
day care providers of children 6 months or younger

Flu (and pneumonia) shot clinics will be held at various Ingles Supermarkets beginning in mid September and into November. Ingles Supermarkets works with Maxim Health Systems who hires trained local nurses for these clinics. You may see people that you know!

Cost for shots is as follows: $30 - Influenza (Seasonal flu) ; $45 - Pneumonia.Cash or a personal check will be accepted. No credit cards. Please check with your insurance company ahead of time to see if your flu shot is covered, and bring your insurance card with you. Individuals with Medicare Part B as their primary insurance have no co pay. Please bring your Medicare card with you to the clinic.
