Buncombe County Register of Deeds' Office is Moving to a New Location

The Register of Deeds' Office is moving out of the Buncombe County Courthouse in February.

The Office will be closed on February 7 and 8 and will reopen on February 9 in their new offices at 35 Woodfin Street in Asheville.

The Register of Deeds has been located in the Courthouse since 1929 when the Courthouse opened. Otto DeBruhl and his staff are moving across the street to 35 Woodfin Street (location formerly known as the Buncombe County Health Center) to allow room in the Courthouse for expansion of the county system. Their current space will be used by the Clerk of Court, allowing offices from the upper floors to relocate while construction on the new Life Safety Tower is completed.

To learn more about what happens in the Register of Deeds' Office and to hear from Otto DeBruhl and Joann Morgan about the move, watch this month's edition of Buncombe Life by visting www.buncombecounty.org/bunclife.
