Asheville Outlets is hosting a drive-through food donation drive with Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM) through Friday, October 16, 2020 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm each day at the Food Court entrance.
Drivers can pull up, stay inside their vehicles and hand off donations safely to volunteers, all of whom will be wearing protective gloves and masks. ABCCM works to address poverty issues including hunger, homelessness and access to health care for the under-served in Buncombe County.
“Asheville Outlets is proud to partner with ABCCM to host this vital drive-through food donation drive,” says Megan Thorp, Marketing Assistant for Asheville Outlets. “This drive will help ABCCM to continue to be able to provide much needed food supplies to our community as we enter into the holiday season,” she adds.
Items of need include: oil (cooking), corn meal, grits, canned tuna/chicken/meats, canned fruits and vegetables, hearty soups, peanut butter and jelly, spaghetti sauce, self-rising flour, sugar, instant potatoes, rice, dry beans (pinto), dry milk, and macaroni & cheese.
ABCCM works to address poverty, hunger, homelessness and access to health care for the under-served in Buncombe County. Last month alone, ABCCM gave out over 3,800 grocery bags to families in need. ABCCM is volunteer based with 93.1% of every dollar serving those in need.
ABCCM practices state, and local disciplined safety procedures for volunteer and public safety. If you are interested in volunteering, visit ABCCM.org/serve or call 828-259-5300.
