Minnie Jones Health Center Announces Kim Wagenaar as Chief Executive Officer

The board of directors of the Minnie Jones Health Center has named Kim Wagenaar as the group’s full-time, permanent chief executive officer. Wagenaar previously served as interim CEO.

Wagenaar has previously served as CEO at Cabarrus/Rowan Community Health Center in Concord, NC, and has held administrative positions at other community health centers and in the public health arena. In addition to her administrative experience, Wagenaar is a nurse practitioner, bringing clinical insight to the CEO position.

Wagenaar joins Cody McKinney, who was also recently named as chief financial officer. McKinney has previously served as CFO at Cabarrus/Rowan Community Health Center, and as finance Director at Children First/Communities in Schools of Buncombe County, NC. He has also served as mentor to other community health centers throughout the country as a participant in the National Association of Community Health Centers’ CFO Institute.

Cody McKinney states, “My career has been primarily in the public accounting arena, but I also have experience in the education field and healthcare management. I worked in all areas of public accounting practice — tax, financial accounting, and auditing. My audit focus was in not-for-profits and governmental units. I am passionate about the work of community health centers and serving the population with varied health care needs.”
