Aeroflow Urology is proud to announce the success of its recent diaper drive. As a result of the weeklong effort, they were able to gather thousands of diapers to donate to local impoverished families in McDowell County, NC.
In late April, Aeroflow Urology volunteers and members from the NC Diaper Bank met at the Corpening Memorial YMCA to distribute thousands of diapers to local families in need.
The result of the diaper drive were all made possible by Aeroflow’s dedicated partners, the Diaper Bank of NC and Partner for Children of the Foothills. Aeroflow Healthcare donated 300 cases of diapers, along with hundreds of donations from their team members. They would also like to thank Specialized Physical Therapy (South Asheville), Asheville-Pisgah Christian School 5th and 6th graders, as well as local community members for thousands of donations.
Diapers are an expensive, yet necessary commodity for normal daily routines, yet they aren’t covered by government programs such as government assistance programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Women, Infants, Children (WIC).
Diapers are a basic hygiene product that children need to remain dry, comfortable, and sanitary. Without enough, they may be stuck in their own excrement for hours or denied from daycare programs. Even as little as one diaper can make a major difference for families attempting to provide a normal and confident routine for their families.
Because McDowell County has a poverty rate of 25.9%, Aeroflow decided to focus on that particular region as a distribution site.
By being equipped with necessary hygiene products, hopefully, the dignity of North Carolina residents will be protected and promoted as they’re more able to keep their children sanitary without any added financial stress.
