Mark Twain Performer at East Asheville Library on Oct. 24th

The Friends of the East Asheville Library are pleased to host a one-hour program filled with tall tales and anecdotes as Marvin Cole brings Mark Twain to life. Cole captures the spirit and character of Twain.

The performance will be held Tuesday, October 24th at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall of Beverly Hills Baptist Church, located at 777 Tunnel Rd., Asheville, across from the KIA dealership. Admission is free but donations to the Friends of the E. Asheville Library are greatly appreciated.

Cole has been performing one-man dramatic presentations as Mark Twain for over 25 years. With a natural wit and uncanny physical resemblance to Twain, he appreciates Twain’s humor but says, “There is something behind the humor that’s saying that you need to be a better person.”

Cole was born in the Candler area. After graduating from Western Carolina University he earned a doctorate in higher education from Indiana University and later served as President of DeKalb College. He is a member of the Asheville Storytelling Circle and the National Storytelling Network.
