This weekend the Asheville Choral Society will offer two performances of their second annual Yuletide Candlelight program—a new family tradition for the holidays.
At 7:30 pm on December 2nd and again at 4:30 pm on December 3rd, the choir will hold their candlelight procession in the beautiful Trinity Episcopal Church on 60 Church Street, Asheville.
The music will be festive and beautiful with Christmas and seasonal favorites, children’s voices, and brass! Selections will include: Ave Maria by Franz Biebl, the classic “Carol of the Bells,” Ola Gjeilo’s arrangement of “The Coventry Carol” and James MacMillan’s stunning “Who Are These Angels?” You will want to bring the whole family and enjoy this sparkling annual tradition. Be sure to celebrate this annual tradition with the Asheville Choral Society.
Tickets can be purchased at ashevillechoralsociety.org or by calling 828.232.2060. Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $10 for students, or $25 at the door. The Asheville Choral Society also wishes to thank the sponsors for this concert, Givens Highlands Farms, Weaverville Eye Associates, and Asheville Humane Society.
The Asheville Choral Society’s Artistic Director, Dr. Melodie Galloway, has programmed an exciting series of concerts to celebrate the group’s 40th season. In March, the choir will be part of the Asheville Amadeus Festival with their concert entitled “Mozart March Madness.” And in April, the Asheville Choral Society and the Asheville Symphony Chorus will present a joint concert, called “Asheville in Vienna,” previewing their European Concert Tour the following month.
