Celebrating its fifth anniversary season, Asheville’s own professional contemporary ballet company, sources talent from across the country and presents bold programming featuring all new work.
MOTION Dance Theatre will be Diana Wortham Theatre on July 11th and 12th at 8:00 pm.
Founder and Artistic Director Nick Kepley, has traveled far and wide collecting the knowledge and talent needed to provide Western North Carolina with the very best in American dance. Dancers from Ballet Austin, BalletMet, Colorado Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Nashville Ballet and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, will take the Diana Wortham Theatre stage by storm, displaying unbelievable athleticism and aesthetic beauty.
For this annual “choreographic laboratory,” Kepley has invited two emerging guest choreographers, already receiving national attention, to create world premieres on the company. This program features live accompaniment along with a new score commissioned by the Charles and Joan Gross Family Foundation.
