Major General Rick Devereaux, former U.S. Air Force director of operational planning, policy, and strategy, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 in UNC Asheville’s Reuter Center.
His talk, “Defense and the Rise of New Technologies” is co-sponsored by the WNC chapter of the World Affairs Council, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNC Asheville, and the university’s Department of Political Science.
Devereaux, who now serves as an independent defense industry consultant and senior advisor to the Western NC Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America, will bring his military officer’s perspective to the discussion of evolving warfare technologies, ranging from robotic planes to cyber-weapons to 3D printing and human enhancement.
