At Our Voice, we inspire hope and healing while striving to create a community free from sexual violence and human trafficking. As a board member, you will play a vital role in ensuring our agency functions effectively in pursuit of this mission. Your responsibilities will include creating policy, fundraising, guiding program direction, overseeing agency finances, developing community relationships, and serving as an ambassador for our agency in the community.
We are looking for passionate individuals who are eager to contribute their time, skills, and expertise to support our cause. Whether you have experience in non-profit work, finance, fundraising, community outreach, or simply a strong commitment to ending sexual violence, we encourage you to apply. We are intentionally seeking candidates from diverse backgrounds, and previous board membership is not required.

Q: What advice would you give to someone considering joining the board?
A: For anyone considering joining the board, I would advise them to be prepared for a deeply rewarding and impactful experience. Bring your passion, be ready to collaborate, and know that your contributions can create lasting positive change in the lives of survivors and the broader community.

Q: What inspired you to join the OV board?
A: I have been committed to supporting survivors of sexual violence for over two decades and have previously served on the board of organizations with similar missions in other states. When I moved to Asheville, I knew I wanted to get involved in the community and given how important and personal this topic is to me, joining the Our Voice board was an easy decision to make.
Daniel Johnson, Director
Q: What inspired you to join the OV board?
A: I saw a mission I was inspired by and an opportunity to contribute to an important and underserved cause in our community. As a father of three children, I want to make sure they understand the importance of standing up for survivors and against sexual violence in our community.
