The Carolina Panthers’ 2015 training camp opens Friday, July 31st, with the Lowe’s Kickoff Party.
The team will practice from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Gibbs Stadium on the campus of Wofford College, which will be hosting training camp for the 21st consecutive year.
“We’ve had 21 years of outstanding support from Wofford and the city of Spartanburg,” team president Danny Morrison says. “They’ve worked diligently to continuously make it a first-class experience.”
“We are so pleased to have the Panthers returning to our campus and Spartanburg for training camp,” Wofford President Nayef Samhat says. “We also are proud to play host to the thousands of football fans from around the region, across the country and right here at home who come to watch these elite professionals prepare for their season. Nowhere else can one get so close to the action.”
The Panthers have worked to enhance the first-class experience fans have enjoyed since 1995. With the help of Lowe’s, the team has implemented new fan amenities and has beautified the grounds to create a pristine environment.
“We’re extremely excited for our fans to see and experience the upgrades we’ve made to the viewing areas,” Morrison say. “Lowe’s motto is, ‘Never stop improving,’ and it’s a mindset we share on and off the field. They’ve been a tremendous partner who has helped make a difference for our fans.”
All 14 practices at training camp, which concludes Aug. 20, and additional activities are free and open to the public.
One week into the Panthers’ stay at Wofford, the team will return to Charlotte for Fan Fest at Bank of America Stadium on Friday, Aug. 7, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Following the first preseason game against the Buffalo Bills on Aug. 14, the Panthers will wrap up training camp with joint practices with the Miami Dolphins on Aug. 19 and 20. The two teams will play each other at Bank of America Stadium in Week 2 of the preseason on Aug. 22.
“There’s nothing like being right on the field during training camp, and now fans get to see two teams in a practice setting,” Morrison says. “It really enhances the experience.”
Training camp once again will present Panthers Pals, a special experience especially for children. Panthers Pals offers children between the ages of 6 and 13 an opportunity to watch part of practice from field level and then spend time with a player afterward. Kids can register to be a Panthers Pal outside the entrance to the practice fields. Five names will be chosen randomly about 30 minutes before the end of practice. The children selected will receive a Panther Pal T-shirt and will be escorted to a special area to watch the conclusion of practice. Panthers Pals will be held at the public practices.
