Two re-elected and one new councilmember were sworn into office on Dec. 2, 2024.
Re-elected councilwomen Kim Roney and Sage Turner and newly elected councilmember Roberto (Bo) Hess took their oaths, administered by Senior Resident Superior County judge Alan Z. Thornburg, in City Hall’s Council Chambers.
Before the members were sworn in, Mayor Esther Manheimer presented a Resolution of Appreciation to outgoing Councilmember and Vice President Sandra Kilgore. Kilgore made remarks thanking her fellow council members and looks forward to continuing to serve in the community.
After the swearing-in, Hess, Roney, and Turner all spoke of the honor and privilege they felt to serve the residents of Asheville.
During a brief organizational meeting, the Council’s first act was to elect Antanette Mosley as Vice Mayor unanimously.
