For the last three Saturdays of November, LEAF Global Arts will be hosting an Artist ReLEAF Concert series.
The events will both benefit the artists who perform (through the LEAF Local Artist Relief Fund) AND help to raise money for the fund.
First up: Aaron “Woody” Wood on November 16, 4-6 p.m. Described as straight-up cosmic Appalachian soul, Woody consistently delivers the power and energy that have gained him renown as a musician’s musician. Throughout his long career, Woody has never fit neatly into one genre. His appeal calls to people who love music no matter if it’s rock, blues, Americana, or soul.
Daniela Risquez and Jay Moye perform on November 23, 4-6 p.m. Daniela is an illustrator, early childhood educator, and singer from Venezuela. With musician and LEAF board member Jay Moye she performs in the cross-cultural music collaboration TANTEO.
Chinobay performs on November 30, 4-6 p.m. The incomparable and uber-talented Chinobay (LEAF’s board chair) is a Ugandan musician and educator who has led workshops, camps, and residencies worldwide. He is the founder and producer of Dance of Hope, Africa’s leading youth-based arts education program that allows youths from vulnerable communities to lead music and dance workshops and extended residencies, while connecting with global communities through cross-cultural experiences.
