Mission Health has partnered with another HCA Healthcare division to open Head and Neck Specialists of Western North Carolina.
This team of experts specializes in complex head and neck cancers and expands cancer services at Mission Hospital. Currently, Western North Carolina residents with this unique and complex disease are having to travel to a larger city to get specialty care.
The multidisciplinary team provides care for benign and malignant tumors in the head and neck region. These tumors can appear in the following areas:
- Skin
- Mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, sinuses and nose
- Salivary glands, thyroid gland
- Parathyroid gland
“The opening of this practice means new options for multispecialty, leading-edge oncology care, so we are excited to expand these services in the region,” said Chad Patrick, Mission Hospital Chief Executive Officer. “While these physicians are committed to delivering exceptional care to patients and their families, this collaboration across HCA Healthcare also means additional resources and support for our care teams in the Carolinas.”
The practice has a team of two Otolaryngologists, Dr. Paul Davis and Dr. Steven Dennis, with the support of additional providers and medical staff.
“Dr. Dennis and myself have felt incredibly welcomed by the medical community here and supported by the organization,” says Dr. Paul Davis, Medical Director of Head and Neck Oncology at Mission Hospital. “It’s very exciting for us to have this opportunity to provide subspecialty ENT cancer care for the region.”
