Vessels of Merriment is back for another round at Grovewood Gallery! Celebrating its fifth run, this invitational exhibition will feature handcrafted drinking vessels by fifteen studio potters from around the country.
An opening reception was held on Saturday, November 11, where viewers had the opportunity to meet some of the participating artists and enjoy complimentary libations. This show will remain on view through December 31, 2023.
Vessels of Merriment will showcase ceramic mugs, goblets, whiskey cups, wine cups, tumblers, and more. All pieces are for sale, making this exhibition the perfect opportunity for holiday gift buying. Most of the vessels are priced between $45 – $85, an affordable price for one-of-a-kind, handmade works of art.
Participating artists: Anja Bartels, Ayla Mullen, FLM Ceramics, Helen Purdum, Julie Spako, Laurie Caffery, Lisa Gluckin, Marissa Domanski, Milo Berezin, Juan Barroso, Rebecca Zweibel, Rebekah Strickland, Reiko Miyagi, Ruth Hesse, and Silver Run Ceramics.
Established in 1992, Grovewood Gallery is noted for its charming, old-world setting and rich craft heritage. The gallery is located in the historic Grovewood Village complex, which once housed the weaving and woodworking operations of Biltmore Industries, a force in American craft and textiles that grew to become one of the largest producers of handwoven wool in the country. Today, the gallery offers two expansive floors of fine American-made art and crafts contributed by more than 350 makers.
