GE Aviation is sponsoring a career fair in Old Fort on Tuesday, May 7 at the Old Fort Depot. According to a representative, the fair is being held in an attempt to hire some of the 325 workers who recently lost their jobs in the Ethan Allen plant closing.
The two GE Asheville facilities are rapidly hiring. This year alone they’re seeking to fill more than 200 open jobs.
The fair takes place on Tuesday, May 7, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Old Fort Depot at 25 W Main St. Sample opportunities include Equipment Maintenance Team Leader, Maintenance Technician, and CMC Technician; a full list of positions is available at ge.com/careers.
