Join Drew Jones & Ellie Johnston of Climate Interactive and play The Climate Adaptation Game – a powerful and oddly entertaining exercise on decision-making in the face of high-stakes, deep uncertainty. Drinks & snacks will be provided.
Designed by the Red Cross/Red Crescent and most recently played at the Vatican and the United Nations in Nairobi, Kenya, the Climate Adaptation Game pits countries against each other as they plan for the possibility of droughts, floods, or the change to improve livelihoods. Teams also will wrestle with a “wild card” technology.
The Climate Interactive Team would like feedback on the game and would love to teach others to lead it in their communities!
Drew, Ellie, and team run Climate Interactive, the 2017 “Best US Energy & Environment Think Tank” by Prospect Magazine (UK), which developed widely used games such as World Climate. Drew’s recent talk on the intersection of games and climate can be found here.
