The 2018 Parson’s Lecture will given by Christine Darden who worked at NASA to research sonic boom minimization. on Thursday, March 1 at 7:00pm in Lipinsky Auditorium. Darden grew up in Monroe, NC and attended Allen High School in the 1950’s where a love of math developed. Darden’s story is told in part in the book Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race.
