Julian Price was an innovator and philanthropist who helped reinvent Asheville, which is no doubt why the Wedge Brewing Company named their pilsner after him.
He was also instrumental in the formation and development of Mountain BizWorks, which is why we’re especially excited to team up with the brewery, one of our very first clients, for an unforgettable showing of the Price documentary outside under the stars!
Here’s what you need to know: Arrive at 37 Paynes Way around 8:00 pm on Saturday, August 6th to grab a brew, claim your spot, and get settled in for the night; bring your own lawn chairs and blankets, as seats and tables fill up fast.
Before the movie, you’ll hear from another of our earliest clients, restaurateur Hector Diaz of Salsa’s, Modesto, Chorizo, and Bomba. Diaz worked with Price to resurrect downtown, and he introduced Price to Wedge founder Tim Schaller. The two men, Schaller says, are the reason he stayed in Asheville when he wasn’t yet convinced as to what the town could become. We’ll also say a few words about Mountain BizWorks’ past and future, and share how you can make a Price-like impact in WNC through our investor program.
The documentary will play just after sunset, around 8:45 pm. Trust us, it’s one you don’t want to miss; watch a trailer of the Asheville story you need to know. See you Saturday! For more about the event, visit the Wedge’s Facebook page.
