AshevilleParks, Recreation and Cultural Arts will host a free community wellness event, Women’s Health and Wealth Day, on Saturday, November 7, from 12-4 p.m., at the Stephens-Lee Recreation Center, 30 George Washington Carver Street.
The event features numerous free activities, including massages, health screenings for bone density and blood pressure, chiropractic assessments, health information from diverse local agencies, healthy snacks, door prizes, and more! Learn more about both traditional and complementary wellness options in Asheville. Several employment agencies and debt-consolidation groups will also be on hand to offer their services. Hour-long, movement workshops include Yoga, Pilates, and Nia dance sessions. Come for all or part of the event! It's a big brick building on top of the hill. Call 350-2058 for info, or just drop by! The Stephens-Lee Center offers a wide variety of programs and classes for all ages, with special emphasis on wellness and fitness for women. The center features a gymnasium and fitness center with weights, treadmills, stationary bikes, Stairmaster and a universal machine. “Women only” workout times are designed specifically for women by women.
