Vadim Bora Gallery hosts the sixth annual group exhibition of Mountain Sculptors in “METAMORPHOSIS.”
An exceptional gathering of ideas and objects from the first seed of the creative thought, rendered in drawings, models and maquettes to the finished work.The exhibit opens November 6 and runs through December 3, 2009. The Opening Reception is Friday, November 6, 5-8 p.m. at the Vadim Bora Gallery & Studio, 30 1/2 Battery Park Ave. Asheville, NC 28801, (828) 254-7959. The juried exhibition explores the sculptor’s process from the development of the idea through its progression into a physical entity, and ultimately a work of art encapsulating a universal truth. This metamorphosis of a concept as it develops through trial and error and tactile exploration shows the mind of the artist at work. Mountain Sculptors is an association of professional artists creating three-dimensional work in Western North Carolina and the surrounding region to enhance community awareness, understanding, and appreciation of contemporary sculpture.
