The Suzuki Owners Club of North America (SOC of NA) is holding its Southeastern Motorcycle Rally in Asheville, NC - in 2008. The event is taking place through Saturday located at the Asheville Ramada, as the host facility.
The Suzuki Owners Club's Southeastern Rally should be one of the largest collections of Suzuki motorcycles in one place. More than 3,000 Suzuki motorcycle owners are expected to attend, occupying 150-200 hotel rooms for the week of the Rally. The event is anticipated to generate close to $300,000 in direct economic impact to Asheville and the Western North Carolina area. "It gives me great pleasure to announce the Suzuki Owners Club of North Americas Southeastern Rally 2008 to the Asheville, NC community. Our clubs volunteer leaders have put a tremendous amount of work into making this happen. I feel certain that our motorcycle/riders club will show Asheville what a motorcycle rally is all about and I look forward to showcasing our club to the community," says Stephen V. "Stone" Anthony, President and Founder of the Suzuki Owners Club of North America. "First-time Rally-Goers and Western North Carolina visitors will be pleasantly surprised to find that Western North Carolina is home to some of the finest motorcycle riding in the country," says Lee Barrett, the President of the North Carolina Chapter of SOC of NA. "That's what will define the Southeastern Suzuki Motorcycle Rally experience. It's all about the ride - discovering attractions throughout beautiful Asheville and Western North Carolina" In addition, Anthony says hundreds of motorcyclists will take excursions to nearby communities of Western North Carolina. The roads of "Western North Carolina" to a motorcyclist are beyond all expectations," says Anthony. "When combined with a couple thousand motorcyclists, a menagerie of vendors, food establishments, dealer booths and manufacturer's displays, you've got what I like to describe as "A Motorcycle Rally." The Rally continues to grow, attracting motorcyclists from all over the east coast. Anthony says the rally gets major corporate support from a long list of title sponsors including Progressive Motorcycle Insurance, Cheerwine, RC Cola of Asheville, Ramada and others.
