Furnishings and decorative items from Four Corners Home in Asheville are featured in the current issue of Southern Living. The multi-page story in the magazine’s August issue highlights its 2008 “green” Idea House at Whisper Mountain north of Asheville; items from Four Corners Home are included in every room of the Idea House.
Before construction of the 2008 “green” Idea House, Southern Living staff sought out local companies with a commitment to green and sustainable practices to participate; Four Corners Home was selected because owners Michael Forde and William Griffin offer furniture and accessories from sustainable sources worldwide. “From its inception Four Corners Home has sought out products from suppliers with a commitment to the ongoing social and economic development within their communities. For us, having a ‘green conscience’ isn’t just a marketing angle, it’s the right way to do business,” Forde said.
