Learn About Designing and Maintaining A Healthy Landscape & Fall Vegetable Gardening This Month

Join us at Pack Library in August for another popular gardening series with NC Cooperative Extension Agent Linda Blue. The series will cover the basics of both vegetable and lawn gardening.

The first class will discuss fall vegetable gardening. Home grown vegetables are extra flavorful and nutritious, and August is the time to plant those healthy fall vegetables. Next, the class will learn how to maintain an environmentally friendly landscape by selecting and growing healthy, low maintenance plants. These lawn gardening classes will include steps to design your home landscape—including evaluating your site, selecting good trees, shrubs and perennials, soil preparation, planting correctly—and the best maintenance practices to keep it all looking green and healthy.

The classes are free and will be in Lord Auditorium at Pack Library. Classes begin promptly at 6pm, no registration is required. For more information, call the Cooperative Extension Service at 255-5522.
