One of Asheville's most popular hotels has recently received a national honor. The DoubleTree Biltmore Hotel has been named as the Hilton brand's Best Conversion of the Year for its intensive 2002 renovation.The DoubleTree Biltmore Hotel is a full-service hotel located one block from the entrance to the Biltmore Estate and Winery. The property has 160 newly renovated guest rooms, including 19 two-room suites, grand public areas, and an on-site museum dedicated to the history of Biltmore Farms. Hotel amenities include an outdoor pool and whirlpool, and a 24-hour fitness room. Also on site are the Biltmore Dairy Bar and T.G.I. Friday's restaurant. In addition, the DoubleTree Biltmore Hotel has partnered with the award-winning Savoy Cucina Italiana, another Asheville staple, to handle all of the property's catering and banquet operations. As part of the hotel's renovation, a full catering kitchen was built specifically for Savoy so it can provide catering for all special events, private parties, and corporate gatherings held at the hotel.
