MIXED BLOOD WOMAN is a contemporary dance theater company founded by Maura Michelle Garcia. Garcia performs her original multi-media piece that explores the world of the ancient Cherokee fairies, the Yvwi Tsvsdi or "little people," and the having, losing and reclaiming of traditional Cherokee beliefs and a conscious Native identity.Tickets are available at the Diana Wortham Theatre Box Office, by calling 828.257.4530 or at www.dwtheatre.com. Tickets are $8 Museum Members, seniors and students; $10 general admission and $5 children 12 and under. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. The Asheville Art Museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, accredited by the American Association of Museums which receives support for its programs from Museum members, other generous individuals, corporations, businesses and foundations,the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
