2015 Asheville Fringe Arts Festival

The Asheville Fringe Arts Festival takes place January 22 – 25, 2015. This is the annual multi-day and multiple venue performance extravaganza that asks artists working in all types of genres and media to push their own boundaries and to present original and innovative performance art to a culturally adventurous audience.

Musicians, performers and composers will premiere and showcase new music and avant-garde ambient sounds. Each festival also hosts Free Fringe activities around town called Random Acts of Fringe. From Butoh Parades on Lexington Ave, to impromptu mobile installations to dance performances in Pritchard Park… you never know what to expect.

This year’s venues include the LaZoom Bus, The Odditorium, The Mothlight, The Forum @DWT, and Toy Boat Community Artspace. For a full listing of venues please visit www.ashevillefringe.org.

The best way to get tickets is online. Check out the schedule and click on the show you want tickets for. Each show will have it’s own listing and description. Check out the schedule carefully before purchasing tickets to make sure you are not getting tickets for two shows happening at the same time.

The second best way to get tickets is in person during the week of the festival: The Fringe Central will be open January 19-24 (Monday through Saturday) from 12 noon until 6pm at the LaZoom Ticket Booth at 14 Battery Park Ave. You can reach Fringe Central during these hours at (828) 782-7240. It will sell festival show tickets for all shows at all venues, based on availability. Fringe Central will also serve as the LaZoom Box Office and will sell LaZoom Fringe Bus Tour tickets during regular Fringe Central hours and from 6-7 pm, Friday & Saturday.

Your last chance to get tickets is at the show: If shows are not sold out, tickets will be available at each Venue’s Box Office, starting 1 hour before show time. You can go to the venue early and purchase your ticket up to one hour before the show begins. Last minute LaZoom hopefuls should check in with the Fringe Central to see about any available tickets. Each venue has limited seating (40-69 seats).
