Mountain State Fair Breaks Donation, Attendance Records for Ingles Day

Fairgoers helped the N.C. Mountain State Fair set two records during its annual Ingles Day.

“The fair set a new attendance record for Wednesday with 14,193 people,” said fair manager Matt Buchanan. “More importantly, a record 3,438 people brought at least five cans of food with them during Ingles Day. We were able to donate more than 17,000 pounds of food to MANNA Food Bank.”

During the promotion, guests who brought five cans of Laura Lynn brand food received free gate admission for the day. All food collected during the event is donated to the MANNA Food Bank, which works with 200 partner agencies across 16 counties to end hunger in Western North Carolina.
