Free Microsoft Office Downloads Available To All BCS Students

Buncombe County Schools is pleased to announce that its more than 25,000 students are eligible to download Microsoft® Office 2013 Professional Plus for free and install it on as many as five (5) PCs or Macs plus five (5) mobile devices.

This opportunity is part of the district’s Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) agreement, which is an easy, no-cost offer that provides qualified education customers a simplified way to acquire Microsoft software and services under a single, subscription agreement.

Microsoft® Office 2013 Professional Plus includes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access, and Publisher.

Also new this year, BCS employees are eligible to take advantage of Microsoft’s Software Assurance Home Use Program (HUP). This program enables employees to get a licensed copy of Microsoft® Office 2013 for PC or Mac to install and use on their home computer for $9.95. Employees can continue using HUP software as long as they remain employed by BCS.

To access the free download of Microsoft® Office 2013 Professional Plus, students/parents must:

1. Login on to Office 2013 at: https://login.microsoftonline.com
2. The username is [email protected] (The “StudentID” is the student’s lunch number).
3. The password is the student’s date of birth in the “YYYYMMDD” format.

After successfully logging in, simply download Office 2013 from the Office 365 “Settings” menu.
