Blues Singer Patrick Dodd to Perform Free Concert

Blues Singer Patrick Dodd, a one-time Beale Street Entertainer of the Year and long-time performer at BB King’s Blues Club in Memphis, Tenn., will perform at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Patrick Dodd will perform in Lipinsky Auditorium at UNC Asheville. This concert is free and open to the public.

The concert kicks off the fall season of faculty, student and guest performances at UNC Asheville. Accompanying Dodd will be Wayne Kirby, bassist and UNC Asheville professor of music. Kirby’s long career includes collaborations with Deborah Harry in the 1960s, and stints arranging music for many network television shows. Kirby now performs as part of Roy “Futureman” Wooten’s ensemble, Sons of Another Planet, as part of the world music group, Jibblin the Floeline, and as part of the Patrick Dodd band.
