2014 RiverMusic Summer Concert Series

RiverLink’s 2014 RiverMusic summer concert series continues at 5 p.m. on August 29 at 144 Riverside Drive in the River Arts District.

Our fourth concert features The Artimus Pyle Band led by Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer, Artimus Pyle. Pyle drummed through the glory years of Lynyrd Skynyrd and leads his band’s high energy tribute to Skynyrd’s classic Southern rock. Opening is Asheville’s own rocking soul and blues band, Andrew Scotchie and the River Rats.

RiverMusic continues to celebrate Asheville’s great craft beer and food scene with an equally outstanding lineup of local food trucks and beer from two of America’s most illustrious breweries, New Belgium and Sierra Nevada. New Belgium will be pouring their Fat Tire, Ranger IPA, Tour De Fall Pale Ale and Snapshot Wheat, while Sierra Nevada pours its flagship Pale Ale, Torpedo IPA and Flipside Red IPA.

With seven different brews as inspiration, our food trucks for August 29 have come up with some mouthwatering pairings. Farm To Fender recommends a Fat Tire to accompany their award-winning spicy chipotle pimento cheeseburger. Lebanese street food specialists, Gypsy Queen Cuisine, suggest trying their lamb kafta with a Ranger IPA. Bill at Avery’s Hot Dogs is going to be cooking some Torpedo IPA right into his chili and, honestly, every one of our seven beers goes nicely with a chili dog.

Asheville’s Asian-Mex fusion truck, El Kimchi, says that their spicy pork tacos and burritos are perfectly complemented by a Ranger IPA. And Pho Ya Belly is whipping up 5-spiced pulled pork sandwiches topped with pickled peaches (!) which they suggest you wash down with a Fat Tire Ale.
