If you’ve followed Asheville’s music scene at all in the last eight years, you’ve probably come across the name Kovacs and The Polar Bear. And maybe you’ve been like, “I’ll just catch them the next time they play.” and just sat around the house and watched CSI or The Godfather or something.
Well, no excuses this time, because this is the last time they will ever play a show together ever again . . . EVER . . . for real*.
That’s right, this rough and tumble crew is calling it quits after 40** grueling years in the Asheville music scene. The lineup will include all of the members who have ever played in the band: the lovely and exquisite Nicholas Kovacs, the mighty hammer Andy Woodward, the child prodigal prodigy Chris Lee, the tall drink of water Joe Chang, the fabulous ginger Casey Ellis, the doe-eyed Dane Smith, and that dude Josh Carpenter.
Expect appearances by some of the industry’s biggest names and the comedic stylings of Gallagher***, as well as a surprise guest!****
But seriously, this is it.. Last chance for a slow dance..
